How to Unlock Your Phone

In addition to the phones we can unlock with a Smart SIM unlock overlay card, we are able to provide unlocking services for most Motorola phones, most Samsung phones, the Apple iPhone, plus most Nokia phones, many Siemens and most Sony Ericsson and LG phones, Blackberry PDA/phones, the Treo 600 650 680 & 750 PDA/phone, and some models of Alcatel phones.

Smart SIM Unlock Overlay Card

The unit we send you is a very clever device.  It is wafer thin, and fits between your SIM and the contacts on the phone (pictured at the top of the page).

In simple terms, we have programmed the unit to trick your phone into thinking that the SIM you are using with it is an officially approved SIM.

It is easy for you to insert the Smart SIM unlock overlay card into the phone - nothing sticks out or in any way interferes with your phone's appearance or normal operation.

You need to cut a notch out of your SIM to make space for the Smart SIM, but that is easily done with a razor blade or Exacto knife.  You can see an example of a SIM that has the notch cut out of it on the left.

The area you cut out of your SIM won't damage the SIM at all, because it is just part of the plastic mounting, with none of the internal electronic components close to the area you are cutting, and your SIM will still work perfectly normally in all phones without the Smart SIM overlaid on it.

You can see an example, in the second image, of a SIM that now has the Smart SIM overlaid behind it - there is a little piece of the Smart SIM which sticks out in the space you cut out of the SIM.

If you're uncomfortable cutting a notch in your SIM, you can ship it to us of course and we'll do this for you and return it with the Smart SIM at no extra charge.

How Long Does it Take

We have two service options.  With our regular service, our promise is that we'll program one of these overlay units and have it on its way back to you within a business day of receiving payment.  We send your phone back to you via USPS First Class Mail, with Delivery Confirmation, insurance, and online delivery confirmation for your reassurance.  If returning to an international address, we send via Air Mail.

If you're in a hurry, or if you do not have a US postal address, our Express service may be better for you.  Depending on when we receive your order during the day, we'll endeavor to program a unit for you the same day and send it back to you USPS Express Mail, which usually takes only one day to get to your address.  This also includes insurance and delivery confirmation.

Notes

Any delays with international shipping due to potential Customs problems, lengthier shipping times, variable and expensive shipping costs are all at your risk, and if we need to pay any extra Customs fees upon receiving your phone, you will need to send these extra fees to us.

Terms and Conditions

We test your phone before and after unlocking it.  If your phone does not work properly when first received, we will return it to you, locked and unrepaired, and with no refund.

Phones are returned with delivery confirmation service and $100 of insurance cover in the US.  Additional insurance is available at a cost of $2 per extra $100 of cover.  Delivery confirmation and insurance is not offered on international shipments unless sent by courier.

In all circumstances and situations, our liability will at no time exceed that of refunding you your fee.
